We will get more familiar with some “behind the
scenes” things such as Preference settings, Configurations, Terminology
and Tech Tips.

removing the motors, how to adjust the adjusting brackets for aligning
the motors, checking the wiring if you receive communication errors,
etc.
Lunch Break
Beyond Basic Pantographs
- We will start with a refresher and build to making advanced set ups or
“maps”, Clipping blocks, Border to Border, and the scary “Saving” of
quilts to finish at a later time! We will also go over
Realignments, both the “old fashioned” way and using the Quilt Advance
Assistant (QAA)
Day 2
Pattern Editing and Design Creation – In this class we will spend
a little time on the editing tools, split, smooth, distort, shape shift
and magnet tool. The main focus will be to teach you how to use tools
incorporated in the IQ to Create your own designs, such as Pearls, a
blanket stitch, feathered wreaths, etc.
Lunch Break
Conquering the No Sew Zones – In
this class you will learn different approaches
to the No Sew Zone and how to handle the draw-in
that occurs, so that your block placement will
be precise.
We will also touch on clipping block and fan
patterns.
Day 3
Borders – We will start off with simple “Dead end” borders,
progressing to borders that turn the corner, Symmetrical or Mirror
Imaged borders, and finally, those dreaded wide borders that need extra
fill. We will work with pattern repeat and path pattern. I will show you
how to stitch the sides without having to “turn the quilt”. You will
learn how to deal with the draw in (shrinkage) and make your designs
match up perfectly. (Stitch out will be done in custom class)
Lunch break
Custom Quilting - We will stitch out a sampler
quilt and put into use all of the techniques you have learned in this
workshop. Along with using background fills, echoing, SID, and Line
pattern. This is also a great time to ask those questions you may have
to help you move from only doing Pantos and use more of the tools in
your IQ toolbox!
Number of students will be limited to 8, so register early. Refunds will be given if workshop does not fill. No refunds after 30 days prior to workshop start.
You will receive workshop handouts. Bring your tablet, stand and power
cord to use during the workshop.
Lunch is provided.
